The families of the victims of the fire in the Modular Hospital in Tetovo have requested the Prosecutor’s Office to reopen the investigation. They believe key evidence related to construction omissions was rejected.
At a press conference in front of the Basic Court in Tetovo, representatives emphasized the existence of overlooked evidence. Agron Arifi, representing the Initiative, specifically cited German expertise as vital to the investigation.
The families are requesting the formation of an independent investigative team. This team would examine all aspects of the case, including potential procedural delays.
The fire at the modular hospital in Tetovo on September 8, 2021, resulted in 14 fatalities. Among the dead were 12 patients being treated for coronavirus and 2 family members present at the time. Fourteen individuals were rescued before the hospital was destroyed.
