Government Urges Union to Avoid Exploiting National Situation

The government is appealing to the union to refrain from exploiting the country’s current situation and avoid distorting the discussion regarding worker conditions, a matter of great importance to the government.

According to the government, comparisons of salaries and aggressive populist displays only highlight the partisan affiliations of some of the union’s leadership. The government reminds the union that it opposed salary increases for officials, while the union remained silent, favoring its political allies from SDSM and DUI, during their years in power when the country was allegedly being harmed.

The government views the current issue as a complex socio-economic problem, not as a result of the union leadership’s political ambitions. It suggests lowering the tone of discussions about salaries, asserting that reducing salaries would not solve the underlying problems for workers. The government also points out that it was the first to freeze officials’ salaries.

The government suggests that if the union president wants to earn the same salary as the prime minister, he should win the next parliamentary elections after agreeing to be on the SDSM’s candidate lists. It questions his willingness to give up his salary so easily, suggesting that only someone with considerable wealth could afford to do so. The government believes his actions reveal a Freudian slip, indicating that money is not a problem for him.

The government insists that the workers’ problems can be addressed systematically with a practical approach. It describes the current approach as disastrous and driven by political ambition and exploitation. The government claims that the union’s forceful, partisan, and unreasonable approach will be unproductive and questions their silence during the past seven years, suggesting that the public sees through their motives.

The government concludes by stating its commitment to finding solutions for workers, acknowledging the long-standing problems affecting the country. It says it sympathizes with the difficulties faced by the people and will not be diverted from its mission by partisan unionists promoting the agendas of SDSM and DUI, parties they allegedly cooperated with and benefited from for seven years.
