Skopje now has a direct flight connection to Paris with the introduction of a new Skopje-Paris airline route, with the first flight arriving this morning at Skopje International Airport from Paris Orly Airport, operated by EasyJet.
The route will operate twice weekly thanks to financial support from the Government via the Ministry of Transport’s Program for the Introduction of New Destinations.
EasyJet will operate the route from April 2nd until December 31st, 2027, based on a pre-set schedule.
Deputy Prime Minister Nikoloski stated this new route offers better communication and connection between North Macedonia and Europe, attracting tourists to North Macedonia. The government has created conditions to attract new airlines, resulting in eight new destinations from Skopje Airport and two from Ohrid Airport in a short time. The subsidization model has shifted to support arriving passengers, encouraging more people to visit North Macedonia and utilize local services. Negotiations are underway with other airlines to secure additional destinations.
The Skopje-Paris route is part of a broader agreement for financial support for introducing new airlines, implemented by the Ministry of Transport through a public call for subsidies.
In addition to Paris, new routes from Skopje include Dubai, Stuttgart, Lyon, Barcelona, Geneva, and Amsterdam, while Ohrid will offer routes to Istanbul and Basel.
The Financial Support Program 2025-2027, approved by the Government, allocates 360 million denars for subsidies to introduce new airlines.
The Program aims to improve air traffic, provide new destinations for citizens, and foster the development of civil aviation.
