The Markova River’s recent overflow has disrupted traffic and raised safety concerns for residents of Gorno and Dolno Lisice, prompting accusations from SDSM Aerodrom regarding unfulfilled promises.
SDSM Aerodrom is calling on acting mayor Dejan Miteski to take immediate action by cleaning and regulating the Markova River bed to prevent further disasters, assess the damage, and compensate affected citizens. They also criticize VMRO-DPMNE’s management of the Municipality of Aerodrom, holding Miteski and Timcho Mutsunski directly responsible for the consequences of the river’s overflow, citing their “irresponsibility and negligence.”
According to SDSM Aerodrom, the widening of the bridge and regulation of the riverbed were priority promises made by Miteski and Mutsunski four years ago. They claim that instead of the promised “quay of the Markova River” with amenities, residents have experienced flooded properties, traffic disruptions, and fear.
SDSM Aerodrom questions the lack of progress on the bridge expansion and quay construction, asking when the riverbed was last cleaned and how many fines have been issued for illegal dumping. They accuse Miteski of manipulating residents with unrealistic promises and highlight VMRO-DPMNE’s traditionally strong voter base in Gorno and Dolno Lisice.
