Heavy rainfall caused the Markova River to overflow in Batinci village, resulting in flooded streets and homes. Authorities state there is no current need for evacuation, as the situation is under control, but there is material damage.
Crews are working to restore the river to its normal course. The mayor of Studenichani, Azem Sadiki, affirmed that the situation is being addressed and that the population is not currently in danger.
According to Sadiki, the Markova River experienced significant water volume increases and overflowed in several locations. Heavy machinery was deployed to stabilize the situation, and while rainfall has paused, water has entered yards in houses near the river.
Kashmir Saliu, the deputy director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, confirmed coordination with local mayors and stated that their teams are on site and there is no danger of flooding.
