President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with participants of the “Oxford Connection” program, including organizers and professors from the University of Oxford.

The President highlighted the program’s uniqueness and the honor it brings to the country, allowing Macedonian students and academics to engage with world-renowned scholars and access scientific literature.

Participants discussed desired changes in people and educational system reforms to adapt to the rapidly changing world.

The “Oxford Connection” program aims to connect Macedonian institutions with the University of Oxford, facilitating the exchange of research and knowledge through visits by Oxford professors and doctoral students.

President Siljanovska-Davkova expressed concern over the declining ranking of UKIM and stressed the importance of supporting education, retaining young talent, and increasing funding for education and science.

The meeting also revealed that 41 Macedonian citizens are currently pursuing their education at British universities.

This year’s “Oxford Connection” program is scheduled to take place from today until Friday, April 4.
