A 46-year-old man from Gevgelija, identified as B.T., was apprehended by Skopje police on March 31, 2025, at 8:00 PM in Gazi Baba, following a report of fraud.

The arrest occurred after a 52-year-old woman reported that B.T. allegedly defrauded her of 3,000 denars. He reportedly presented himself as a police officer and a relative of an injured individual from Kocani, who was supposedly receiving care at the “Mother Teresa” clinic complex and residing in a care facility in Gazi Baba.

B.T. allegedly requested money from the woman to purchase sprays for the purported relative. After providing the money and not receiving a receipt, the woman suspected she had been deceived, according to the Ministry of Interior.

Authorities will file a formal report after the case is thoroughly investigated.
