An investigation is underway after an inspector was threatened in connection with an illegally constructed building in Chair, Skopje. The incident follows the discovery of an illegal water connection at the site.
B.A. (34) from Skopje allegedly made threats to F.R., an inspector from the city of Skopje, after the inspector discovered the illegal water connection on Cvetan Dimov Street. The incident was reported to SIA Skopje at approximately 11:30 AM on June 22, 2025.
The report comes after Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska highlighted the case on social media over the weekend, speaking about alleged illegal activities related to the 12-story building. Arsovska stated that the building contains 61 illegally constructed apartments and that there is an attempt to legalize them using falsified documents claiming they were built in 2011.
Arsovska also reported that inspectors faced further intimidation when tenants living in the building slashed the tires of their vehicles. The Ministry of Interior is currently investigating the reported threats and the broader allegations surrounding the building’s construction and utility connections.
