SDSM Accuses VMRO-DPMNE of Unfulfilled Green Space Promises in Aerodrom Municipality

SDSM representatives are criticizing VMRO-DPMNE’s leadership in the Aerodrom Municipality for allegedly failing to deliver on promises of new parks and green spaces. Marina Kusakatska from SDSM Aerodrom stated at a press conference that the promised 100,000 square meters of new parks and greenery have not materialized in the past four years.

Kusakatska claims that instead of new parks, residents are faced with overgrown, yellowed lawns littered with garbage and damaged urban equipment. She specifically mentioned the “Radost” (Joy) park in Reonski Centar, a 5,000-square-meter project that was supposed to be completed in the first year of the mandate but remains unfinished.

According to Kusakatska, VMRO-DPMNE also pledged to build a new 5,000-square-meter park near the ‘Goce Delchev’ barracks, but no project exists. Additionally, a new content park of the same size was promised in Novo Lisiche, featuring amenities for children of all ages, but it was never built.

Furthermore, Kusakatska alleges that VMRO-DPMNE failed to implement a smart irrigation system for lawns between buildings and has been unable to maintain existing irrigation systems. She also asserts that the Avionche park was supposed to be transformed into a small amusement park, with parking restrictions enforced to eliminate vehicles on paths and lawns, but this did not happen.

The promise of new pet parks in every existing and new park also remains unfulfilled, according to Kusakatska. She contends that Dejan Miteski and Timcho Mutsunski were unable to maintain parks built by their predecessors, let alone construct new ones. Kusakatska argues that Aerodrom was once the greenest municipality in Skopje but has now become one with the most neglected parks, filled with garbage and fallen branches.

Kusakatska questioned how Dejan Miteski could seek a second term, implying that he and VMRO-DPMNE have failed the municipality. She concluded that their time in Aerodrom has expired.
