Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski met with the management of the Faculty of Security – Skopje to discuss strengthening the partnership between the academic community and the Ministry of Interior. The aim is to bolster institutional capacities and promote the police profession.

The new Law on Internal Affairs will provide a legal framework for employing students from higher education institutions with which the Ministry of Interior has a cooperation agreement. This initiative will enable top young professionals to join the state’s security system immediately after graduation.

Discussions also centered on including the faculty’s expert staff in the continuous education and training programs for police officers. This is part of a long-term strategy to improve professional skills and standards within the Ministry of Interior.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the potential involvement of the Faculty of Security’s teaching staff in educating future police officers, as part of preparations to reactivate the Secondary Police School.

Both parties concurred that these measures represent concrete and sustainable steps to connect academic knowledge with practical application. The ultimate goal is a stronger, well-trained, and modern police force dedicated to serving the citizens.
