Seven employees of the Employment Center in Strumica are under investigation for allegedly enabling individuals living abroad to receive state aid. The Ministry of Interior announced that SIA Strumica filed a criminal report against the employees, citing “negligent work in the service.”
The employees, identified as R.K. (62), Zh.D. (56), E.D. (42), Zh.K. (67), Z.J. (56), J.T. (45), and R.A. (55), all from Strumica, are accused of violating the Law on Employment and Insurance in case of unemployment. The alleged offenses occurred between 2021 and 2025.
The employees are suspected of registering Macedonian citizens residing outside the country as active job seekers in the AVRM system. This allowed these individuals to improperly receive guaranteed minimum assistance.
The actions of the employees resulted in damages to the state amounting to 333,968 denars. The investigation is ongoing.
