Health Minister Azir Aliu has launched “Open Cabinet,” a new tool designed to facilitate direct communication between citizens and the Ministry of Health. The initiative aims to eliminate barriers and bureaucracy, fostering a more human-centered approach to healthcare.
Minister Aliu emphasized that “Open Cabinet” represents a complete transformation of the relationship between the institution and the public, enabling citizens to directly schedule meetings with him every Friday without formal procedures. The first 15 appointments have already been booked, indicating strong citizen interest.
According to Minister Aliu, this initiative is not just a new service but a clear message about the Ministry’s vision for the healthcare system. He envisions healthcare as a living organism that communicates, includes, and reacts promptly to the needs of the people.
Aliu stressed citizens’ right to accessibility, transparency, and accountability from their healthcare institutions. He views healthcare that communicates, includes, and reacts as a public obligation, one he fully accepts as Minister, promising to fulfill it daily with work, accountability, and personal presence.
The Minister also highlighted the priority of creating a healthcare system guided by data, analysis, and the real needs of citizens, rather than political pressures or personal interests. The goal is a system that is not afraid of the truth, avoids unnecessary bureaucracy, and always remembers the individual as the reason for its existence.
