MP Trenchevska criticizes appointment of computer scientist as Minister of Health

MP Jovana Trenchevska of SDSM has strongly criticized the appointment of Azir Aliu, a computer scientist, as the new Minister of Health, arguing that he lacks the necessary experience to address the critical issues plaguing the healthcare system. Trenchevska believes that a professional with a background in computer science is ill-equipped to handle the complexities and challenges within the healthcare sector.

Trenchevska stated that the government is failing to prioritize the health of its citizens, creating a system that endangers lives. She emphasized that the current state of chaos in healthcare cannot be resolved by someone without prior experience in the field. She suggested that by the time Aliu gains sufficient knowledge of the healthcare system, he will likely be replaced.

During a parliamentary session, Trenchevska highlighted what she perceives as the government’s numerous failures. She also referenced the recent celebration of the Union of Young Forces of DPMNE, which included a pyrotechnic display, calling it scandalous, especially considering it occurred shortly after the tragic fire in Kočani. Trenchevska accused the government of lacking concern for the citizens, stating that they are the ones who will suffer the consequences of the government’s actions.

She reminded the public of the Kočani tragedy, where 62 young lives were lost and 200 were injured, attributing it to the government’s incompetence. Trenchevska criticized the government for allegedly rejecting legal solutions offered by the opposition that could provide genuine support and assistance to those affected. She further asserted that the current government is the most incompetent since the independence of Macedonia, leading healthcare to a critical state with little hope for improvement. According to Trenchevska, every sector of healthcare has been negatively impacted by the government’s incompetence and negligence, with citizens bearing the burden through their own health.
