Azir Aliu has been elected as the new Minister of Health by the Assembly’s Members of Parliament this afternoon. Aliu, nominated from the “Vredi” coalition, secured his position with a majority vote.
Out of 95 Members of Parliament present, 65 voted in favor of Aliu, while 15 voted against. The new Minister of Health is stepping into the role previously held by Arben Taravari, who departed from both the Government and the coalition.
According to his official background, Aliu is a graduate electrical engineer and holds a doctorate in computer science. Currently, he serves as a full professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Technologies at the faculty in Tetovo.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed confidence in Aliu’s capabilities, stating that his knowledge and energy will introduce a fresh perspective to the management of the healthcare system.
