Tallon Griekspoor, the top-ranked Dutch tennis player, has withdrawn from the Libéma Open in Rosmalen due to an abdominal muscle injury. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Monday.
Griekspoor sustained the injury during his fourth-round match against Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros on Monday, where he was forced to retire. He has not recovered sufficiently to participate in the grass tournament.
“I am extremely disappointed that I have to withdraw from my home tournament. It is one of my favorite tournaments of the year,” Griekspoor stated. He consulted with medical professionals who advised him that playing next week was not feasible.
Griekspoor won the title in Rosmalen in 2023.
Defending champion Alex de Minaur also withdrew from the Rosmalen tournament on Friday afternoon.
