The Netherlands is intensifying its efforts in drone technology with the opening of the Quick Response Drone Facility in Marknesse. Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans inaugurated the center, designed to rapidly translate real-world experiences into practical solutions.

This initiative aims to foster collaboration between companies, the military, and researchers from the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR). The goal is to deliver new drones or drone functionalities to the Defence department within four to six weeks.

The facility represents one of several projects financed by a €400 million fund. This fund was allocated by the Ministry of Defence last year to support drone production.
