Beachgoers planning coastal trips in the Netherlands this week should be aware of varying parking costs and potential fines. With hot weather and train strikes expected to drive more people to the beach by car, website Gaspedaal.nl advises checking parking rates in advance.
Bloemendaal aan Zee has the highest parking fee at €33.60 per day. In contrast, parking remains free in Hoek van Holland, Callantsoog, and Ouddorp.
Several other resorts offer parking for less than €10, including Renesse and Egmond aan Zee.
Fines for improper parking can reach up to €133. According to the website, Schouwen-Duiveland issued the most parking fines last year with 3,627, followed by Westland with 2,428, and Beverwijk with 2,199.
