A series of disturbing incidents involving packages containing animal eyes sent to Ukrainian embassies across Europe occurred in December 2022. These acts of intimidation and potential threats targeted diplomatic missions in multiple countries.

In the Netherlands, the Ukrainian embassy in The Hague received a bloodied package containing animal eyes. This incident took place in December 2022, marking one of the earliest reported cases.

Around the same time, four other Ukrainian embassies and three consulates in other European locations were targeted with similar packages. The contents were gruesome and intended to cause alarm.

In Spain, one of the packages contained a sheep’s eye. The specific type of animal eyes included in the other packages was not disclosed. These packages were a clear attempt to intimidate and threaten Ukrainian diplomatic staff.
