Likelihood of Thunderstorms Expected Over the Weekend

The Netherlands is bracing for a shift in weather conditions this weekend, with hot and sunny conditions giving way to scattered showers and thunderstorms. According to Weeronline, the change is expected to begin on Saturday evening and continue throughout Sunday.

Sunday will bring less sunshine overall, with heavy rain and thunderstorms anticipated in many areas starting in the afternoon. The weather service warns that these showers could be intense, accompanied by strong gusts of wind. Temperatures are expected to range from 23° to 27° Celsius.

Saturday will start with abundant sunshine, and temperatures are predicted to climb quickly to the mid-20s Celsius. By the afternoon, most of the country can anticipate summer temperatures exceeding 25° Celsius, with the southern regions potentially reaching 31° Celsius. The coast will also experience warm weather. However, clouds are expected to develop in the south during the afternoon, bringing a risk of isolated showers, and thunderstorms could follow in the evening, initially in the south and centre, before spreading northwards later in the night.

Friday will be dry, featuring a mix of sun and cloud. Temperatures are forecast to range from 24° to 28° Celsius in the southeast.

Looking ahead to next week, the weather is expected to remain changeable, with cooler temperatures and showers on most days. Nevertheless, some sunshine is still anticipated between the rain showers, and the likelihood of showers is projected to decrease towards the end of the week.
