Groningen’s Academie Minerva Graduation Show Opens to the Public

Groningen’s Academie Minerva is hosting its annual Graduation Show across eight locations from June 14 to 19, showcasing the work of around 160 graduating artists, designers, performers, and art teachers. The exhibitions are open to the public.

The Minerva art school announced the event, highlighting the diverse range of talent on display. The show provides a platform for students to present their final projects to a wider audience.

Exhibitions will take place at Minerva’s buildings on the Praediniussingel and Gedempte Zuiderdiep, as well as Kunstpunt Groningen, SIGN, Pictura, NP3, Gallery, and Noorderlicht. A new venue this year is the former Niemeyer tobacco factory, which is slated to become a hub for digital innovation in the Northern Netherlands.

Students from Minerva’s Art & Technology program will present experimental works that combine art, design, and emerging technologies, with a selection featured at the Niemeyer factory. The Niemeyer location will also host a networking event, connecting local creatives, educators, and tech professionals.

The opening hours for the show are Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th from 12:00 to 20:00, and Monday, June 16th to Thursday, June 19th from 14:00 to 20:00. Noorderlicht will close earlier at 18:00 on Thursday, June 19th.

In 2021, the graduation show was held online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
