The documentary “Nightlife,” created by Groningen-based filmmakers Andres Fouché and Anice Hut, has been selected for the Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam. The film explores the nocturnal lives of animals in the urban environment of Groningen, focusing on their survival amidst the city’s nightlife.
The film aims to raise awareness about the hidden world around us, particularly among young people. Fouché emphasizes the importance of observing and appreciating the fascinating details of our environment.
The Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam organizers describe “Nightlife” as a visually stunning film that reveals how numerous animals coexist with humans in urban settings. The film encourages viewers to consider the world from a different perspective, questioning what the night looks like when humans are not the observers.
The film opens with a scene on the Papengang in Groningen, where an empty beer bottle rolls over the cobblestones and a zebra Jumping Spider emerges.
The premiere of “Nightlife” will take place in November at the Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam. Tickets will be available starting October 5.
