Wednesday will bring sunny spells, particularly in the west and south, with temperatures climbing to 24°C locally. The north-east may experience a cloudier start to the day, but sunny periods are expected in the afternoon.

The hot weather is expected to peak on Thursday and Friday, driven by a surge of hot air. However, the increasing temperatures will also bring the risk of thunderstorms, particularly on Friday evening and Saturday.

By Sunday, temperatures are forecast to drop slightly, but thunderstorms remain a possibility. The KNMI weather bureau predicts that next week will see temperatures return to just above the seasonal average, with a mix of sunshine and clouds.
