An Amsterdam man is facing a 10-year prison sentence and mandatory psychiatric treatment after being accused of drugging and sexually abusing numerous teenage boys over an eight-year period. The 43-year-old man allegedly contacted teenagers aged 13 to 16 through dating apps, showering them with gifts, alcohol, and drugs before abusing them.

The public prosecution department revealed that the suspect is also charged with distributing child pornography and possessing drugs. The man exploited vulnerable youngsters struggling with their sexuality, luring them with parties, presents, and alcohol, which came at a devastating cost.

According to the public prosecutor, the suspect subtly manipulated the victims towards unrestricted sexual acts. Many of these attacks were recorded and shared, with police discovering 4,500 images on his computer, 2,600 of which depicted identified youngsters.

The prosecutor emphasized the profound damage inflicted upon the young victims, who now grapple with trauma resulting from these experiences. The case underscores the dangers posed by dating apps, particularly when vulnerable youngsters are targeted by adults.

The court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on July 8.
