Extinction Rebellion (XR) activists blocked access to the De Heus chicken feed factory in Ravenstein yesterday, marking their third protest this year against the company. Approximately twenty activists participated in the blockade.
XR alleges that De Heus contributes significantly to the nitrogen and biodiversity crises. They claim the company promotes deforestation and environmental pollution on a large scale.
The group further accuses De Heus of ignoring serious human rights violations. This blockade follows similar actions on April 17 and July 9.
