Denmark is set to become home to the world’s first computer built using logical qubits, named Magne, expected to be operational next year. This groundbreaking development is spearheaded by QuNorth, a newly formed company backed by a 600 million kroner investment from the Danish Export and Investment Fund (Eifo) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The supercomputer Magne will offer researchers and companies access to advanced computing power on commercial terms. This will allow them to accelerate the development of innovative products and tackle complex calculations.
Lars Sandahl Sørensen, CEO of the Confederation of Danish Industry, emphasizes that Magne will provide a critical advantage in developing future solutions to global challenges. These include discovering new materials, optimizing logistics, creating advanced defense systems, and identifying novel molecules and materials for applications like medicine.
