A 41-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks following a stabbing near Aarhus Central Station on Thursday. The incident occurred on M.P. Bruuns Gade, which leads to the station platforms.
The victim, a 23-year-old man, was stabbed in the neck and received immediate life-saving first aid from a female witness. Other witnesses also assisted until rescue personnel arrived.
Police were alerted to the stabbing at 4:42 PM and quickly apprehended the suspect, who had boarded a train. The 41-year-old man was found to be in possession of a knife.
The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. His condition was initially serious but was stabilized, though described as critical on Friday morning.
The suspect appeared in court on Friday, charged with attempted manslaughter, but pleaded not guilty. He has accepted the court’s decision to remand him in custody and is unlikely to appeal.
