Viktor Nevers Ends Handball Career at 23

Viktor Nevers, a 23-year-old winger, has retired from professional handball after three seasons with KIF Kolding. The club, which was recently relegated from the Men’s League, announced Nevers’ decision on its website.

Nevers had been on indefinite sick leave since late March due to stress-related symptoms. This time away from the court allowed him to reflect and ultimately make the decision to end his career.

“Handball has meant a lot to me for many years, and my time at KIF has given me countless experiences, development, and relationships that I will take with me,” Nevers stated. He joined KIF in the summer of 2022 and played in 87 games for the team.

KIF Kolding acknowledged Nevers’ impact, highlighting his energy, speed, and dedication. “Now is the time to prioritize differently and open the door to new opportunities,” Nevers added.

KIF Kolding, a historically dominant force in Danish handball, was relegated to the 1st division this season after a 41-year run in the top league. The club holds the record for the most Danish championships.
