Nickolai Lund, former assistant coach with extensive knowledge of FC Copenhagen, has been appointed as the interim head coach of Viborg FF following the departure of Jakob Poulsen. Lund will lead the team as they face FC Copenhagen on Friday evening.

Lund expressed his readiness to step into the role, emphasizing his commitment to the team’s success. He aims to leverage his understanding of the opposing team to secure a positive outcome.

“We will do everything to perform at our best and get off to a good start,” Lund stated on the club’s website. He highlighted the need for a collective effort, focusing on ball control, pressing, and resilience during challenging moments.

Lund also stressed the importance of balancing bravery with caution, urging the team to work cohesively. He conveyed his openness to a permanent position but affirmed his willingness to support the new head coach as an assistant if another candidate is chosen.

Viborg has a decent home record against FCK, having won three of the last five matches. FC Copenhagen won the most recent encounter 1-0 in May.
