Verdict Expected Today in the Henrik Sass Larsen Case

The verdict in the case against Henrik Sass Larsen is expected to be delivered today in the Copenhagen City Court after closing arguments from the prosecution and defense. The former Social Democratic politician and minister faces charges related to possession of illegal abuse material.

Sass Larsen is charged with possessing 6,242 images and 2,231 videos of illegal abuse material, including 252 images and 197 videos in the most serious category, which may include rape, coercion, threats, or material involving very young infants. He is also accused of possessing a child doll constructed with a sexual purpose in mind.

During the initial court hearing on August 21, the prosecutor presented new information, including details about international authorities and a parliamentary computer used to download some of the material. A photograph of the child sex doll in question was also presented in court.

According to his statement, he received the doll as a bonus gift on an online trading platform, and police initially failed to seize it during a search. The central question today is whether the photograph of the doll constitutes sufficient evidence to convict Sass Larsen on the charge of possessing a child doll. Berlingske is closely monitoring the case.

Sass Larsen has acknowledged possessing the material but pleads not guilty.
