Vejle Boldklub’s sporting director, Mikkel Hemmersam, expresses satisfaction with the team’s new roster ahead of their Superliga season opener against Randers FC on Sunday. The club underwent a significant transformation during the summer transfer window, welcoming several notable players while parting ways with others.
The team has strategically focused on building a strong Scandinavian core, evident in the recruitment of predominantly Danish players and Jonathan Amon, an American player with Superliga experience. Hemmersam emphasizes the importance of a cohesive collective and believes that the new players, while individually talented, need time to integrate and perform as a unified team.
Vejle has also added offensive firepower by signing African players like Bismark Edjeodji, who is from Ghana. This move reflects a strategy to emulate the success of other Ghanaian players who have thrived in the Superliga.
The summer overhaul included the return of head coach Ivan Prelec, who previously resigned from the club last year. Despite the changes, Hemmersam remains confident in the team’s potential and their ability to remain injury-free.
