Vehicle Confiscated for Reckless Driving in Copenhagen

A 28-year-old man had his car seized by Copenhagen Police early Sunday morning after being caught driving at more than double the speed limit.

The incident occurred at 4:14 AM in the Frederikssundsvej tunnel heading towards Copenhagen. A traffic patrol recorded the man driving an Audi A4 at 127 kilometers per hour.

After accounting for technical tolerance, the speed was adjusted to 123 kilometers per hour. The speed limit in the tunnel is 60 kilometers per hour, marking a violation exceeding 100 percent.

As a result of the excessive speeding, the vehicle was confiscated, and the driver faces charges.

Authorities have stated that the vehicle will likely become property of the state, pending court proceedings. The car will be sold, and the proceeds will go to the state treasury.

In addition to the vehicle confiscation, the 28-year-old driver will have his driver’s license revoked and will receive a fine.
