Denmark is preparing to invite Ukrainian defense companies to establish weapon production facilities within its borders, with potential operations beginning as early as September or October. This initiative follows a formal agreement between Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, solidified during the recent NATO summit.
The agreement will allow Ukrainian companies to manufacture items such as drones and missiles in Denmark.
Poulsen anticipates that this collaboration will not only bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities but also benefit the Danish defense sector. He suggested that Ukrainian companies could produce drones for the Danish military.
However, the realization of this plan hinges on Ukraine enacting new legislation that permits production activities in foreign countries. Poulsen indicated that discussions with Umerov have been productive, and the first company is nearing readiness to commence production in Denmark.
