Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyj expressed strong confidence that no country can halt Ukraine’s progress toward becoming a member of the European Union. His statement came during a press conference in Aarhus, Denmark, on Thursday.
Zelenskyj is currently on a surprise visit to Aarhus to commemorate Denmark assuming the EU presidency. He asserted that there isn’t a single EU nation that should impede Ukraine’s EU membership.
The President remains optimistic about overcoming any potential roadblocks. His confidence stems from the belief that ultimately, solutions will be found.
For a country to join the EU, all 27 member states must unanimously approve the application. Previously, Hungary has voiced opposition to Ukraine’s accession, citing concerns about potentially importing the war into Europe.
In contrast, Denmark’s Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, holds a different view. She believes that the European family would be incomplete without Ukraine’s participation.
