Two Thai women face human trafficking charges for allegedly exploiting six other Thai women and operating a brothel in Jutland. According to a press release from the South and Sønderjylland Police, the women are accused of recruiting 25 Thai women to work in Denmark between October 2023 and December 2024, and possibly earlier.
Authorities believe six of these women were victims of human trafficking. The indictment states that upon arrival in Denmark, the six women were picked up at the airport and housed in Horsens and Fredericia.
Brothel activities were allegedly conducted at these locations under degrading conditions. The buildings reportedly had mold issues.
The defendants are also accused of controlling the six women’s housing, meals, working hours, freedom of movement, and earnings. The women were allegedly required to work from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily and were not allowed to choose which sexual services to offer clients.
