Two men linked to the biker environment have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for orchestrating a murder plot in Copenhagen. The Copenhagen Police confirmed the sentences, marking the first time the masterminds behind these crimes, involving young Swedes traveling to Denmark to commit violence, have been convicted.
The two men confessed in court to ordering a young Swede to carry out a murder in Blågårds Plads last autumn. The 29-year-old Abdullah Cakici received a sentence of 15 years and eight months, while 26-year-old Lucas Møller Birch Hansen was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
The intended victim was associated with the gang Loyal to Familia, but the planned murder was never carried out. On September 10 of last year, the 19-year-old Swede was apprehended by police in inner Nørrebro, foiling the plot.
The investigation revealed that the Swede arrived in Denmark on September 7 and was subsequently provided with accommodation, a pistol, and an electric bicycle by the two now-convicted bikers. The two men are members of Hells Angels and the support group AK81. Cakici, in addition to his prison sentence, has been stripped of his Danish citizenship and permanently expelled from the country.
Both men have appealed their sentences to the Østre Landsret (Eastern High Court), seeking a reduction. However, the city court found no basis for mitigating the sentences, despite their confessions. Special prosecutor Laura Birch emphasized the gravity of the crime, stating that the court did not find reason for a ‘confession discount’ in this case.
