Troels Lund Poulsen Aims for Future Bourgeois Cooperation Despite Convention Absence

Venstre chairman Troels Lund Poulsen expressed hope for future cooperation with Liberal Alliance, Danmarksdemokraterne, Dansk Folkeparti, and De Konservative to guide Denmark in a more bourgeois direction, despite not being invited to their convention in Fredericia. Poulsen welcomed the focus on bourgeois values and politics, emphasizing the importance of political debate.

The convention aims to display unity among the four bourgeois opposition parties and potentially draw Venstre back into the blue bloc. While DF and K consider Poulsen as a potential Prime Minister candidate, LA and DD show more hesitation.

Poulsen reiterated his desire for a bourgeois government and a government-ready blue alternative to the SVM government, acknowledging Venstre’s current standing in opinion polls. He hopes for collaboration to implement concrete policies benefiting Danes and Danish companies.

Poulsen highlighted the government’s budget proposal, pointing to tax cuts on groceries and increased defense funding as examples of positive bourgeois policy. He looks forward to collaborating with the parties on these initiatives, particularly as negotiations for the 2026 budget approach. Last year, the four parties negotiated as a group during the 2025 budget discussions.
