Train traffic throughout Jutland is set to resume at 6:00 PM on Tuesday after being halted due to heavy rain and torrential downpours. The announcement was made by Banedanmark via social media.
Banedanmark stated that track technicians have completed inspections of the affected areas and confirmed that there is no longer water on the tracks.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Banedanmark had suspended train traffic in several locations in Jutland due to adverse weather conditions. This included the Rødkærsbro-Viborg section and the Højslev-Stoholm section.
GoCollective, another train operator, had also suspended services between Struer, Langå, and Aarhus. Replacement buses were deployed, but the 5:48 PM departure between Struer and Aarhus was cancelled.
The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) issued a warning for heavy rain and torrential downpours across much of the country. Double torrential downpours were recorded in Langø in Nakskov Fjord (36.4 millimeters in half an hour) and Tessebølle south of Køge (34.6 millimeters in half an hour).
Torrential downpours were also recorded in Bredballe near Vejle, Outrup north of Esbjerg, and near Holbæk and Gundsømagle.
The Danish Road Directorate’s Traffic Information Center advised caution on the roads, urging drivers to drive carefully, maintain a safe distance, and consider postponing travel until the showers subside. Water accumulation had been reported on roads in several locations, including the E20 motorway from Fredericia towards Odense.
