Train traffic is facing significant disruptions across parts of the country due to heavy rain and cloudbursts. Several lines have been temporarily suspended due to the severe weather conditions.
Banedanmark reports that train services are currently halted between Rødkærsbro and Viborg, as well as between Højslev and Stoholm. GoCollective services are also not operating between Struer, Langå, and Aarhus.
GoCollective has arranged for replacement buses to transport passengers affected by the train stoppages.
The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) had issued warnings for heavy rain and cloudbursts across a large portion of the nation, and these weather events have materialized, with some areas experiencing double cloudbursts.
The primary cause of the disruption is “water in the track” due to the heavy rainfall, according to Banedanmark. Track technicians have been dispatched to assess and address the situation.
DMI reports that double cloudbursts, defined as more than 15 millimeters of precipitation in half an hour, have been recorded in Langø in Nakskov Fjord (36.4 millimeters) and Tessebølle south of Køge (34.6 millimeters).
Cloudbursts have also been registered in Bredballe near Vejle, Outrup north of Esbjerg, and near Holbæk and Gundsømagle.
Banedanmark advises passengers to monitor the traffic situation through train operators and Rejseplanen for the latest updates.
