Train traffic at Copenhagen Central Station was briefly suspended early Saturday morning following a stabbing in the H17 drug consumption room on Halmtorvet. Police halted train traffic due to concerns the suspect might attempt to flee by train.

The stabbing occurred in the H17 drug consumption room on Halmtorvet in Copenhagen. Police received a report of the incident shortly after 6:00 AM.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, sustained a single stab wound to the chest area but is not in life-threatening condition.

After a search lasting a couple of hours, police apprehended a suspect who is now charged with aggravated assault.

H17, situated in a former slaughterhouse in Kødbyen, is the largest drug consumption room in the Nordic region and is operated by Mændenes Hjem. The facility opened in 2016 with the aim of providing safer conditions for drug consumption away from public streets.
