A total of 59,957 applicants have been admitted to higher education this year, according to the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Notifications were sent out tonight, Monday, to those who applied.
The application process involves two quotas with differing deadlines and criteria.
Quota 1 considers applicants solely based on their upper secondary education results. The application deadline for Quota 1 was July 5th at 12:00 PM. Applicants with higher grade point averages are prioritized. Specific grade requirements may exist for individual subjects depending on the program.
Quota 2 is designed for applicants who cannot be admitted through Quota 1 or need to be assessed on qualifications beyond their exam average. The application deadline for Quota 2 was March 15th at 12:00 PM.
Quota 2 criteria encompass a range of academic and general activities, evaluated alongside the qualifying exam. Educational institutions determine their own Quota 2 criteria and the number of places available. Examples of Quota 2 criteria include other education, folk high school stays, and stays abroad, such as school stays or language training. Activities like study-related work, association work, and voluntary work may also be considered.
Some programs invite Quota 2 applicants to admission tests and/or interviews. Certain programs exclusively admit students through Quota 2.
