A 15-year-old Swedish boy has been remanded in custody after being apprehended in Værløse, Denmark, on Tuesday evening in connection with a suspected murder plot. Police discovered a loaded pistol in the apartment where he was found.
The National Unit for Special Crime (NSK) stated that the boy is suspected of being hired to commit a murder in Denmark. The 15-year-old will remain in custody for 14 days while the police investigate the case.
Two other men, a 27-year-old Syrian and a 28-year-old Danish citizen, have also been arrested in the Copenhagen area in connection with the case. They are charged with “facilitating the attempted murder,” according to NSK.
The two men appeared in court on Wednesday, and their detention was extended for three days. The prosecution must decide whether to present them again with a demand for actual remand or release them after this period.
In addition to the loaded pistol found in the Værløse apartment, police also discovered an electric bicycle. This bicycle was allegedly intended to be used in the execution of the planned murder.
Authorities have not yet determined who the intended victim of the alleged murder plot was. The NSK has not released information regarding the relationship between the boy and the two men.
