Sund & Bælt is contemplating reporting drivers to the police following an incident at the Great Belt Bridge on Saturday evening where individuals forced open booms and used abusive language towards employees. The incident occurred due to payment system issues, causing significant traffic congestion.
The payment system failure with Nets on Saturday evening led to major disruptions in card payments, including at the Great Belt Bridge, resulting in queues forming in both directions.
According to Sund & Bælt press officer Jens Villemoes, employees faced frustrated drivers who sometimes used very harsh language. Support has been offered to the affected staff members.
Sund & Bælt is currently reviewing video footage and gathering information from the involved employees to determine if any of the incidents warrant a police report.
Earlier, South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police reported on social media platform X that death threats were allegedly made against staff.
