Following FC Midtjylland’s 3-1 victory against Brøndby on Sunday evening, fan buses were attacked with stones outside Brøndby Stadium, resulting in injuries to at least two people. The incident is believed to have been perpetrated by disgruntled Brøndby fans.
The attack occurred as the away fans were preparing to leave the stadium. According to Copenhagen West Police, the assailants were dressed in black, making identification difficult due to the darkness. As of now, there are no suspects or arrests in connection with the incident.
One person was reportedly hit by a stone, while another sustained injuries from shattered glass. The extent of their injuries is not specified, but they are described as slight.
The victory propels FCM to second place in the Superliga, just one point behind FC Copenhagen. FCM remains the only undefeated team in the league.
For Brøndby, the defeat marks their third consecutive loss and concludes a difficult week. The loss is particularly painful as FCM is a direct rival in the medal race, where Brøndby has recently held a strong position.
