The Social Democratic party is expressing a strong desire to form another broad-based coalition government following the upcoming parliamentary election. Minister for Economic Affairs Morten Bødskov (S) conveyed this sentiment, emphasizing the current government’s accomplishments amidst challenging times.
Despite facing criticism, Bødskov firmly believes that broad government cooperation remains the optimal path forward for Denmark in the long term. This position is echoed by key figures from other parties within the current coalition.
Minister for Economy Stephanie Lose (Venstre) affirmed their commitment to continuing the “political direction” established by the existing government. Lose stated that the current government’s collaborative work is “far from finished,” signaling a desire for continued cooperation. Similarly, Minister for Culture Jakob Engel-Schmidt (Moderates) has also voiced support for maintaining a broad coalition.
