A 36-year-old man from Silkeborg has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison for raping a woman at Ry Højskole. The sentence was handed down by the Court in Horsens on Thursday.
The man, who had no prior criminal record, has accepted the sentence. The South East Jutland Police confirmed the sentencing via social media.
The incident occurred one night in February when the man attacked the woman in her room at the folk high school. The two individuals were not acquainted before the assault.
Following a preliminary hearing in March, he was taken into custody, and the case is now concluded.
During the trial, the man stated that he was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the crime and was experiencing obsessive thoughts. He claimed these thoughts involved going to the folk high school to count windows, stairs, and doors.
At the time of the crime, the 36-year-old was employed, owned a home, and had a girlfriend.
Upon his arrest, police discovered multiple pairs of panties that he had stolen from various rooms within Ry Højskole.
