A 77-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a car on Vintappervej south of Kirke Hyllinge in Midtsjælland. The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the man exited a trailer attached to a tractor, according to Midt- and Vestsjællands Politi. His family has been notified.

Police received the notification of the incident around 3:00 PM. Authorities have described the accident as serious.

Emergency services, including an ambulance helicopter, emergency medical technician, medical car, and ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. The injured man was subsequently transported to Rigshospitalet by helicopter.

While Vintappervej was initially closed to traffic following the accident, the road has since been reopened.

A vehicle inspector has been assigned to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. Their investigation will include assessing factors such as the vehicle’s speed and any braking or evasive maneuvers.
