Salling department store is set to open its first location in Copenhagen in the summer of next year, coinciding with its 120th anniversary. This expansion, announced by Salling Group, the owner of the department store chain, marks a significant milestone for the brand.

The new store will be situated on Kultorvet, in the heart of Copenhagen. This location aims to bring Salling closer to its Copenhagen and Zealand-based customers, who, according to Salling director Marianne Bedsted, are already frequent online shoppers.

With existing locations in Aarhus and Aalborg, the Copenhagen store represents a strategic move to broaden its reach. Director Bedsted describes the opening as a “dream come true,” highlighting the company’s long-held desire to establish a physical presence in the capital city.
