Roskilde Festival Experiencing a Calmer Year Compared to Previous Years

This year’s Roskilde Festival has been notably calmer compared to previous years, according to law enforcement officials. Fewer reports have been filed, indicating a decrease in criminal activity.

Søren Danielsen, Deputy Police Inspector, has stated that the forms of crime reported remain consistent with past years, including theft, violence, drugs, and sexual offences, but the overall frequency is lower.

The weather may be a contributing factor to the peaceful atmosphere, Danielsen suggests. He noted that the mix of sunny and wetter days has helped maintain a temperate climate among festival-goers.

Sexual offences, including indecent exposure and rape, are among the reported crimes. However, the police are not releasing specific numbers or details about these cases as investigations are ongoing.

One notable incident involved a 37-year-old German man charged with indecent exposure for filming women urinating with a hidden wildlife camera. He has confessed to the crime.

Police also charged an 18-year-old man believed to be involved in a clash between football fans in the camping area. This type of incident is unusual for the festival.

Officers responded to three separate clashes between football supporters on Monday. According to Danielsen, the individuals involved were not hardcore fans but had affiliations with Brøndby and FCK.
