Tenax Sild A/S is recalling specific batches of its fish cakes sold in several Danish supermarkets due to listeria contamination. The affected products, sold under the brand names “First Price Fiskefrikadeller”, “Fiskemandens Fiskefrikadeller”, and “Havfrue Fiskefrikadeller”, are available at Spar, Meny, Let Køb, Min Købmand, Rema 1000, and ABC Lavpris.
The recall affects fish cakes with a “best before” date of June 26, 2025, and lot number L220YF. Consumers who have purchased these fish cakes are advised to either discard them or return them to the store of purchase.
Listeria infection can manifest as fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. In individuals with compromised immune systems and pregnant women, the bacteria can lead to more serious conditions such as blood poisoning and meningitis.
