Rapper Gilli Loses Publication Ban Appeal in Tax Evasion Case

Rapper Gilli, whose real name is Kian Rosenberg Larsson, will not be protected by a publication ban in his upcoming tax evasion case, the Eastern High Court has ruled. This decision upholds the previous ruling by the Court in Glostrup, where the case is set to be heard on September 1st.

The Eastern High Court cited the nature and seriousness of the case as the reason for denying the publication ban.

Gilli is accused of providing incorrect or misleading information to tax authorities between 2015 and 2018, allegedly evading approximately 3.3 million kroner.

His lawyer, Kaspar Bastian Lehmann, stated that Gilli pleads not guilty to the charges.

Gilli released his first album in 2014 and has since become a prominent figure in the Danish music scene, achieving significant commercial success.

Last year, Gilli topped Spotify’s list of most streamed artists in Denmark for the sixth consecutive year. In July 2021, he became the first Danish soloist to reach one billion streams in the country. He is known for hits such as “Ibiza”, “Reposado”, and “Vai Amor”.

Gilli recently performed on the Orange Stage at the Roskilde Festival with Benny Jamz and is scheduled to perform at Grøn Koncert.
